Life on the Ice 1995 - Present. Stories, Thoughts, and other random bits from Antarctica. Click for a tour of Antarctica. Where is Marc now? I took three years away from the Antarctic to catch my breath, but the ice has called me back. The Official International Tribute Band to the Arctic Monkeys. Formed in March 2006 from a jamming session, the Antarctic Monkeys became a phenomenon in their own right, travelling the UK and Europe with numerous tours. The demand is now more than ever. Firmly established on the tribute scene, their live show has the power, passion and the creative edge to whip audiences into a frenzy when delivering the powerful tunes of the Arctic Monkeys as the way they should be. Sunday 3rd May - Afternoon.
This website was constructed by Mike Savage, Martha Kane Savage and Howard Evans, South Pole winter-overs from the 1979-1980 season. The site is conceived as a meeting-place for folks who have spent time in the Antarctic and are interested in renewing old acquaintences and keeping in touch with people they met and worked with in the Antarctic. It will be a place for Antarctic veterans to tell yarns and swap lies by adding a linked website of their own. Photos on all the sites by Mike Savage.
